I’m back with a vlog! In my reader survey I asked what you guys would like to see more of and many of you said you liked seeing my mug on the screen. So here I am, explaining what on earth I’ve been up to behind the scenes of Girl Tweets World lately.
Where I’m Working:
Mostly from different Sydney cafes at the moment but my favourite mobile office has to be this balcony in Thailand I blogged from back in December.
What I’m Blogging:
So much! I’ve had a crazy positive response to a couple of posts I’ve written lately that you might like to check out:
5 Things I’m Loving About Melbourne Right Now
How To Live A Life Of Travel – And Not Give Up Your Day Job
8 Things That Confuse Me About Australia
13 Ways I’ve Made Money From Travel Blogging – And How Much I Was Paid
and this post on my Cake Lover’s Guide To Sydney won me the incredible prize mentioned in the video. (I knew this cake eating was good for me!)
What I’m Reading:
I devoured The Girl On The Train in 2 days (like pretty much the rest of the world) and am also discovering the back catalogue of Liane Moriarty after discovering her in our Travel Book Chat. I’ve also spent a fortune on wedding magazines and (wedding porn alert!) now regularly find myself on blogs such as Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes and Ruffled.
What I’m Eating:
Scrolls in Melbourne, doughnuts in Brisbane and healthy stuff in Sydney (because, balance!).
What’s Next:
A couple of adventures including a trip to the Gold Coast (I plan to spend a weekend being a child again and riding all the roller coasters at Movie World), a cruise from Brisbane to Sydney and a visit to Bangkok for the TBEX conference. Will you be there too?
Over and out!
J x

September 3, 2015 at 1:27 pmYou always offer such great insights. Thank you. How has the move to Australia affected how you approach pitching and gaining clients? If its not wrong to ask!

September 7, 2015 at 6:21 amThanks Janice! I’ve been really lucky that I’ve been able to increase my client base by working across both markets. It’s been a learning curve as the blogging industry is slightly different in Oz, I’ve had to network a lot (in person and online) to build my contact list and adjust some rates for the market but in general what I offer (as both a blogger and social media consultant) is the same in both countries. Hope this answers your question. Best, Jayne

September 21, 2015 at 10:53 amHey Jayne, I am REALLY interested in hearing more about your experience self publishing, so please please do give us a vlog, or a post about the learnings you have made.
Also – hoping that once you have seen SO much of Australia you will head over to New Zealand for another visit. I’ll be back living in Auckland from December so would love to catch up any time you do make it over!

September 22, 2015 at 6:31 amI would love to! My current visa means I need to ask permission each time I want to leave the country and it’s a ball ache but hopefully by next year I’ll be more free to roam 😉 We definitely need to get together!
