The Amazing Holiday at La Source Grenada

So my next project is a pretty sweet one. I’m going on holiday. An Amazing Holiday to be exact. At La Source Grenada!

On Sunday 10th June I’ll be taking  a British Airways flight to the Caribbean for a whole week of relaxation, exercise and sunshine. I’ll be on a 7 day programme called the MindBodyReformer  which does exactly what it says on the tin. I’ll be working with an Olympian and Grenadian Boxing champ, who will tailor-make a programme for me according to my own goals. La Source is the Caribbean’s leading holistic resort and the only resort in the region to include dives, spa, yoga, tai chi and a master class schedule in the guest experience. I’ll be sparring and spa-ing, the MindBodyReformer programme includes daily massage treatments. And all this takes place on Pink Gin Beach on the Spice Island of Grenada!

This will be my first visit to the Caribbean so I’l be sure to spend some time off resort – exploring the beaches, Concord waterfall, St George’s Spice Market and even a rum distillery (hic) on this unique island.

One of the things I am looking forward to most is the diving. I am not PADI qualified (alas) but even beginners can enjoy some free dives at the resort. I’ve been told by previous visitors that the marine life is spectacular, not least because Grenada is home to the world’s first Underwater Sculpture Park.  Something I shall definitely look forward to exploring further.
Spies on the ground tell me that previous programme participants have lost over 7 llbs in 6 days and one reduced their body fat mass by 5.5 pounds. For me the most important aspect of this experience though, will be the Mind part. As someone who commutes for an average of 3 hours per day, travels profusely and runs this blog in her ‘spare’ time; the idea of spending 7 whole days in the same place is divine. I realised that the last time I slept in the same bed for 7 consecutive nights was 2 years ago.

I’ve read that the resort doesn’t have TV’s in the bedrooms, allowing the guests to fully switch off, so I’ve stocked up on beach reads. Wifi (and programme) permitting I’ll be bringing you updates on the experience live from the resort via the blog, facebook, instagram and twitter. Follow the hashtag #SpaGrenada for all the goss.

Have you been to Grenada? Got any insider tips to share?

You’ll have an amazing time! I went in Feb, my first time in the Caribbean too.

Its worth hiring a car for the day if you dont mind the driving. The Seven Sisters Waterfalls are amazing, the Belmont Cocoa Plantation is cool and Lance Auz Pines is well worth a visit.

We did a tour of the underwater scuplture park, but got very little time or info there. Buy an underwater camera before you go maybe, as our dive shop thought the idea seemed silly and therefore didnt stock any.

    Enjoy!

It sounds fab, I’d love to go somewhere like that! And I can’t believe you haven’t slept a full week in one place since 2 years ago. I love to travel, but that’s way too hectic for me, so I can imagine you must be ready to just stay still for a while.
