We’re kicking off this week with a cool giveaway. I’ve teamed up with travel agency Southall Travel to offer one of you lucky readers the chance to win a GoPro HERO3. Weighing in at a scant 2.6 ounces, the HERO3 is lighter and smaller than the Original HD HERO camera and comes with built in Wi-Fi, so its even easier to share your awesome video footage.
Southall Travel are the UK’s leading travel agency for flights and holiday packages to India, one of my favourite destinations in the world, and an incredible country to capture on camera. Can you imagine the footage you’d be able to shoot on a GoPro from a wander through a Delhi market, a stroll along a Goan beach or a boat ride through the Keralan backwaters? I’ve got some great pictures from my visit to these places in 2010 but sadly no video footage. Maybe I should go back…
Anyway, back to the contest at hand. For your chance to win a GoPro HERO3 courtesy of Southall Travel tell us in the comments section of this post what destination you would like to capture on the GoPro. Once you’ve left your comment, simply enter your name and email address in the form below so that we have a way to contact you should you be lucky enough to win.
For extra chances to win you can share this contest on Twitter or give Southall Travel and Jayney Travels a like on Facebook (every entry helps!)
The contest is open to UK residents aged 18 and over and will close at 9pm UK time on the 6th October 2014. A winner be picked at random and notified via email by the 10th October. (For full terms and conditions please refer to the entry form below.)
Many thanks to Southall Travel for providing this fantastic prize. The Southall Travel Group were established in 1984 (the same year I was born!) and are one of the largest travel agencies in the UK. They’re online and ready to take your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. (Impressive huh?)
Good luck to all entrants. I look forward to seeing your answers. J

September 25, 2014 at 8:08 amI am off to Thailand for the Christmas break to watch my best friend get married and we’ll be seeing in the New Year on a boat along the Chaophraya River after all the festivities. How epic would it be to use the GoPro to video us all seeing in the New Year and the madness that is Bangkok on NYE???!?!? (oh wow even typing about it is making me super excited, another reason to want Christmas to come early!)

September 25, 2014 at 8:24 amI’d love to use the GoPro to vlog a holiday in Goa. I’d use it on the beach and in the ocean (think about the great underwater footage!) and during a visit to Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Because I can’t help but put every meal that I try while on holiday onto film, I’d capture all of the Kaali Daal and Tadoori Chicken that I’d surely be eating. I’ll want to see some wildlife as well, so I would take the GoPro to Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary to film my experience at the deer park and the botanical garden.

September 27, 2014 at 2:45 pmProbably India – it would be such a great way to capture the colour, characters and chaos, the people and passion and give everyone a little window to such an amazing and photogenic country.
Definitely would do a little video mash-up with it on all the different transport there – tuk-tuks, packed roof trains, motorbike rides through the city and countryside!

September 27, 2014 at 4:20 pmOnce this current epic adventure is over, I would love to do a road-trip through the southern states of the US. Could you imagine, old-school convertible, top down, absolutely stunning landscape all around – and a GoPro montage captured every day – all set to an awesome old school rock and roll track. Very cool.

September 28, 2014 at 7:44 amMy wife and I love to do short European city breaks, to experience different local cultures etc. Eat where the Italians eat, drink where the Germans drink – that sort of thing. Our parents are in their 80s now and can’t have the same experience so my dream would be to use the GoPro to bring our experiences to their living rooms. How about walking up the leaning tower of Pisa on a cold December evening, or sitting in a sunny town square in Leipzig all from the comfort of their homes whilst it snows outside in Essex?
Jen Lowthrop
September 28, 2014 at 9:06 amCan I say the Antarctic? I’m probably more likely to win a GoPro than go to the Antarctic anytime soon, but if I was filming anywhere then a trip to see penguins and iceburgs and another world down south would be my number one dream. Underwater filming, boat filming, ooo it would be amazing. Can you do a competition to win a trip there next?? 😉

October 6, 2014 at 10:53 amMy husband wants one of these so he can film his ‘adventures’ as he blasts around muddily on a dirtbike.
