Guys, you answered and I listened. I previously posted that I wasn’t sure about the colour of this pendant but you all convinced me not to change it. It’s like you understood the woeful levels of my upcycling skills & as it turns out I’m glad you intervened when you did. 😅

Now I just need to finish sanding the bench I never should have messed with so we can seat more than 2 people at the table. I’ve given myself a deadline of Monday 😜

Nope this is not the (unexpected) front of my hous

Nope this is not the (unexpected) front of my house but a gorgeous Welsh cottage we’ve been calling home for the last few nights. I can’t tell you how good it felt to get away & try on another life for a little while. (Anyone else like to imagine they live in the holiday houses they rent?! 🤣)

I have my husband to thank for finding this characterful bolt hole in the Brecon Beacons & while I will share the details in my stories for those that asked I have to warn you it is booked up until next year 🥲

No but seriously, how welcoming are these treats we found in our Welsh Airbnb? This is the second staycation we’ve been on where we’ve been met with homemade cake and I am Here For It!

I rather like this dresser too, along with so many traditional details in the cottage, including exposed brick, wooden beams and the cutest pleated curtains on miniature windows. I’ll share some snippets on my stories when I get decent wi-fi. (The cottage’s way of telling me to get off my phone perhaps?!)

Sofa, we’re going on a break. It’s not you, it’s me. I’ve become too reliant on you these past few months & would like to see other people. Starting with a sofa in a self-catering cottage in Wales this weekend 🤣

That’s just my way of saying, we’re going away! Yay. I’m actually getting separation anxiety about leaving our cosy home but cannot wait for a change of scenery. Ever since the first season of Dream Home Makeover I’ve been obsessed with the Studio McGee interiors style. I kid you not, I even floated the idea of relocating to the US just to have a better chance at recreating it 🤣

As that’s a little impractical right now, I’ve spent the last few months searching for places in the UK where I can buy furniture and homewares that recreate the Studio McGee vibe instead.

Now, I’m no Shea McGee, but I thought I’d share some of these shopping secrets with you guys in case you’d also like this look in your home. (And from the DM’s you sent me after I mentioned this post on stories I think you would! Many collective tears have been shed over the fact McGee & Co don’t ship here, and neither do Target!)
