travel guides & interior design
In a nutshell, this blog is a resource to help you plan stylish holidays & style your home.
I describe my travel style as authentic, affordable but a little bit fancy, and if you want to see exactly what that means check out one of my recent trips:
Like many people around the world, I developed a passion for home décor and interior design during lockdown. But as someone whose first love will always be travel, I’ve tried to find ways to inject that global-influence into our new build in Berkshire.
I’m often found travelling with my Aussie husband, who is the aviation geek/ points hacker of the team, and our son Miles. (Named after the 30,000 of them he did in my belly.)
Since welcoming our little traveller to the mix, we’ve been favouring slower family travel – we spent 7 weeks in New York and 3 weeks in Australia during our son’s first year – and we’ve tried hard not to compromise on the style of travel we love. (So far, anyway!)
My goal is always to find beautiful places to stay (you know, the kind of accommodation that makes you want to come home and redecorate!) but, of course, there needs to be an element of practicality now we have a young child.
In 2020 we bought our first house, a fairly standard English new build property, that we’ve been slowly injecting with our personal style.
I’m a huge fan of the modern rustic trend you see in homes designed by Studio McGee and Amber Lewis. (My interior design idols.)
You can read more about the ways we’ve added character to our new build house so far here.
