The Travel Blogs I’m Obsessed With

Oneika The Traveller

Oneika is one of the sassiest bloggers around. She’s a super talented writer who is not afraid to tackle controversial subjects and say it like it is. (Read: Are Travel Blogs A Form Of Propaganda for starters.) She writes with honesty, humour and humility about what it’s like to travel as a black woman and has recently started a Black Expats interview series to give a voice to others within the community. She’s also fierce on camera and if you’re in Canada you can catch her travel tips on breakfast TV.

Hannah Gale

Technically a lifestyle blogger, Hannah posts more regularly than the other blogs on this list meaning I can binge on her content once a week like it’s Netflix. Covering everything from her Spring fashion picks, to surviving your twenties and suffering from anxiety, Hannah’s heartfelt, humorous and sometimes random ramblings remind me why blogs are so much better than mainstream media. With a background in journalism, Hannah’s writing is sharp enough to read like a Cosmo editorial but so much more personable and relatable than anything you tend to see in print these days.

Vicky Flip Flop

Vicky is one of my long-time blogger buds (coz about 6 years is a long time in the blogosphere, isn’t it?). I love reading Vic’s blog because she does a lot of things that I’m too much of a princess to do myself – like riding across Vietnam and sleeping in smelly tents at festivals. She’s full of sage advice for festival goers, including foul-proof ways to sneak in alcohol. We’re going to be travelling together on two exciting trips in May so watch this space to see if Vicky can convince me to be less of a sissy.

Little Grey Box

I promise you there is no funnier luggage review on the internet than this one by Little Grey Box. Run by Phoebe and husband Matt, Little Grey Box combines stunning visuals (just look at these vids) with an offbeat humour that has me chuckling into my keyboard. (More drunk travel tips please Phoebe!) I also love that Phoebe always looks so well put together in all her photos (those curls!) but you just have to tune into her Insta Story for the not-so-glamourous scoop on life as a travel blogger.

Pack Your Passport

Pack Your Passport is another blog I’ve followed for many years after meeting author Beverley in London. One of the things I love about Beverley’s blog is that she’s kept it consistently real over the years. Every one of Beverley’s posts feel like they came straight from the heart, there’s never anything that’s just a filler. Beverley also writes an awesome newsletter which combines a personal, thoughtful note with things she’s read that week that resonated with her. She sends it out on a Sunday and I look forward to those links as there’s always something that makes me have a good, hard think.

  2. Oooh, I got some new bloggers to follow! You are right that it is impossible to keep up with every post these days, which is why I love Bloglovin’ for organising the blogs I follow 🙂 Will have to add some of these to the list! Some of my favourite travel blogs include Journalist on the Run, Where is Tara, and yours! 🙂

    • Aw shucks, thanks! I use bloglovin too but it has annoyed me of late how they’ve started messing with the feed so I’m not seeing the posts from everyone I follow – just the popular ones. It’s still my main mode of subscribing but I’m finding I regularly have to go these girls’ sites just to check I haven’t missed anything.

  3. I really need to check out Oneika’s blog more often. I always enjoy anything she writes and her Black Expats series sounds really interesting. I’ve also been enjoying Beverley on Instagram stories lately.
But my travel blog obsessions are Time Travel Turtle, Legal Nomads, Hecktic Travels and GTW (obviously).
